June News from CDO
The CDO staff went to Toxic Ranch records and the 17th Street Market this week to meet the owners & managers there and talk about future buying at these stores. Both look like they will be great sources for local music.
17th Street has a lot of the more traditional music, folk, Latin, Lisa Otey & that kind of stuff.
Toxic Ranch is a little more alternative ? more ... young?? If you are near Fourth Avenue or downtown you'll have to visit there yourselves and give me your impressions.
So if Baker & Taylor doesn't carry music by local groups or bands or singers, the CDO dept. can try to get it through one of these two stores. I have already asked Toxic Ranch to try and get copies of CDs from the local teen bands who are going to play in the 'Rock a Book' concert.
July is the new budget year! Hooray! We can start ordering again!
Towards the end of May I ordered lots of DVDs. If you haven't seen these yet, they will be arriving soon at your branch -
- Go Diego Go: Great Gorilla
- The Jetsons
- Ballet Shoes
- Saturday Morning Carttons
and for teens:
- The O.C.
- Seventh Heaven
- My So Called Life
- 7th Heaven
- Smallville
Enjoy the summer,
Ann
